I think the location and idea of black and white flasbacks are a great idea because they are conventionl ideas of a thriller movie. I like the idea of the having several high angle shots looking down on the protagonist as this is a different feature to what is typically seen in thrillers as the protagonist is conventionally a strong male who isn't shown to be vunerable. The use of diegetic sound will enhance the pivitol moments in the opening sequence. I think however, that a non-diegetic soundtrack could work as an underlayer, or at least at certain moments in the sequence to helpl build the storyline up.
